Abstract

A filler cap for electric accumulator battery has an indicating rod to show the level of electrolyte in the cell. The indicating filler cap has an internal tube (3) closed by a small cap (7). A rod (6) fitted to a float (5) indicates the level of electrolyte (9) in the cell. The tube (3) has a window (13) to view the level indicating rod (6). The cap also has a venting tube (2). A porous dome (15) is fitted to a screwed end to close the cap but allow venting of gases. The whole cap can be of transparent material and the porous dome of ceramic material.
