Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the heating performance of a heater by heating engine coolant by a single tube arranged spirally between a heat transmission cylinder and a combustion cylinder, thereby feeding it as wet steam. CONSTITUTION:Combustion gas is inverted at the rear end of a combustion cylinder 10 to heat engine coolant passed between the cylinder 10 and a heat transmission cylinder 11 through a coolant passage 14 between an outer cylinder 13 and the cylinder 11 with a spiral sole tube 20 arranged at the combustion gas passage, and the combustion gas is then exhausted from an outlet 12. Water from a passage 14 reheated by the tube 20 is fed as wet steam to a heater core 4, and is heat exchanged with air intaked by a blower 5. The coolant after heat exchange cools the outer wall of a cylinder liner in wet steam state with good heat transfer property and can also accelerate the warming-up of the engine at the start in winter.
