Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide superior resistance to radiation damage due to neutron, high strength and superior weldability to a structual material of a reactor core used in water-cooled environment in a nuclear fusion reactor by using an austenite stainless steel having a specified composition.
CONSTITUTION: An austenite stainless steel contg. <0.03% C, 0.4W1.0% Si, <2.0% Mn, 1.0W4.0% Mo, 12W20% Cr, <30% Ni, 10×C%W1% Ti and <0.01% N while satisfying equationItogether with ≤ each of S and P as impurities is subjected to soln. heat treatment at 950W1,100°C or further cold worked at about 5W20% reduction ratio and used as a structural material of a nuclear reactor core used in water-cooled environment such as the water-cooled pipe or the 1st partition wall of a blanket container in a nuclear fusion reactor.
