Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate large current breakers and large-current disconnecting switches by jointly using breakers for thyristor start with breakers for synchronous start. CONSTITUTION:In starting the first starting device or the second starting device by using an inverter 16 and a converter 14, disconnecting switches 7, 8, 12, 19 and breakers 9, 13, 18 are turned on. In synchronously starting the second starting device by the first starting device, generated output by the first starting device is supplied to the second starting device by turning on the disconnecting switches 7, 19 and the breaker 18 of the first starting device and the disconnecting switch 31 of the second starting device. In this way, large-current breakers and large-current disconnecting switches will not be required and the breakers will jointly be used for thyristor start and synchronous start.
