CONSTITUTION:AC output side voltage and current are controlled by the gate phases of thyristors 7R-7T by a control device 11 in the open state of the breakers 10R-10T at the time of starting the motor, thereby starting the motor 6. Then, the breakers 10R-10T are closed by the control device 11, and the thyristors 7R-7T are thus shorted. For stopping, the breakers 10R-10T are made OFF by the control device 11, and gate on command is applied to the thyristors 7R-7T, and the motor is stopped by the gate phase control of the thyristors 7R-7T by the control device 11. Thus, the fluctuation applied to the AC power source system can be prevented in the starting and stopping operation of the motor.
