Abstract
PURPOSE:To greatly reduce the cost of circuit breakers for parallel connection of a main circuit, by composing the circuit breakers of disconnecting switches for the parallel connection and small-capacity circuit breakers for the parallel connection which are used for a short time until the connection of the disconnecting switches. CONSTITUTION:When a synchronous motor dynamo 1 is run in a motor direction, a circuit breaker 5 and disconnecting switches 6, 7 and 2M are closed. Other circuit breakers 8, 9 are then closed to operate a thyristor starter 10 to perform acceleration. The voltage across both the terminals of a circuit breaker 16 is applied from transformers 12, 13 to a synchronism detector 11. The circuit breaker 16 is closed by a signal from the detector. A disconnecting switch 15 is opened. The circuit breakers 8, 9 are opened. After that, the circuit breaker 16 and the disconnecting switches are opened to perform synchronous connection to AC power lines. Since the synchronous connection is effected through only the disconnecting switch 15 and the small-capacity circuit breaker 16 for parallel connection, the cost of a circuit breaker for parallel connection of a main circuit is greatly reduced.
