PURPOSE:To enable to perform a forward conversion and an inverse conversion using a single converter by a method wherein power is supplied to an AC system by converting the output of a secondary battery into an alternate current in a steady state, and the controlling signal of the inverter is changed when there is a surplus in the power of the AC system. CONSTITUTION:The power converter 50 and a wave-form improving reactors 61- 63 are provided between the secondary battery 13 and a transformer 4. The power converter 50, consisting of a gate turn off thyristor GTO and the like, is driven by a controlling circuit 80, but in this converter 50, an inverter, a charger and a switch are included. The turn-on control of the power converter 50 for three phases, consisting of six GTO 101-106, diodes 111-126, are performed by the controlling circuit 80 based on the voltage on the AC power supply system, the current from current transformers 91-93 and the inverter output voltage.
