Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce high frequency electric power by using a thyristor of long turn-off time by supplying AC current to a load by firing a plurality of thyristors in time division manner.
CONSTITUTION: A high frequency inverter consists of two bridge circuits S11∼S14, S21∼S24, diodes D11, D21, and communication reactors L11, L21 as a main circuit. AC current is supplied to a load L by firing the thyristors S12, S13∼S22, S23∼S11, S15∼S11, S14∼S21, S24 forming a bridge circuit in time division manner. Accordingly, the bridge circuit alters the direction of the commutation capacitors C12, C22 at every half period for alternative charging them. Thus, the thyristors in the bridge circuits can take reverse voltage period only during substantially 3/4 of the period of the load voltage.
