Abstract

PURPOSE: To detrigger a thyristor efficiently in a simple circuit constitution, by supplying commutation energy stored in a reactor as a reverse-bias current.
CONSTITUTION: A reverse-conductive-type power-supply thyristor 12 is connected in series to a DC power supply 10. Reverse-conductive-type main thyristors 16a∼16f are connected in a bridge form to a load 14. Both terminals a and b of a reactor 18 having a center tap c are connected to the positive pole P and the negative pole N of the DC power-supply 10 by way of a GTO thyristors 20 and 22, respectively. The center tap c of the reactor 18 is connected to the connecting point between the cathode of the power-supply thyristor 12 and the main thyristors 16a∼16f by way of a pair of selective-commutation thyristors 24 and 26 which are connected in reverse parallel.
