Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a separate-excited converter which can prevent interference of commutation without using a compensating reactor by supplying an input voltage with respect to two six-phase rectifiers connected in series with each other from secondary windings of secondary two-winding transformer. CONSTITUTION:Six-phase rectifiers REC1, REC2 formed of a bridge circuit of thyristors are connected in series with one another, and an AC input to the rectifiers is supplied from the secondary winding of secondary two-winding transformer 2 connected to AC power sources R, S and T. The primary windings of the transformer are connected in a delta connection, one of the secondary windings is connected in a delta connection, and the other of the secondary windings is connected in a star connection. A negative isolation reactance is produced at the transformer by using a transformer in which a primary winding 51 is provided on the outer periphery of the iron core leg 50 and one secondary winding 52 and the other secondary winding 53 are disposed at both upper and lower sides of the primary winding 51.
