Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize operation by arranging a reactor to control a capacitor for loading a leading reactive current and a thyristor for loading a lagging reactive current for a power source unit equipped with a energy accumulator with respect to a peak load. CONSTITUTION:A power source unit for nuclear fusion equipment or the like is provide with a thyristor converter 11 in a 3-phase bridge connection connected to a bus line 2, to the output of which a reactor 12 is connected to allow the control of d.c. current. When an energy accumulation coil 5 accumulates energy, a converter 4 is so energized that the sum of delays in the converter 4 and the converter 11 equals a leading component of a capacitor 9. When the energy is transferred to a load 8, the converter 4 is operated in reverse conversion and the converter 7 in forward conversion to obtain a lagging reactive current. This does not affect the power system while enabling the control with limited changes in the voltage and frequency.
