Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable an inverter device, which converts an AC into a DC and moreover into an AC, to cope with a wide range of loads, by providing a plurality of windings to a smoothing reactor. CONSTITUTION:An AC power P1 is converted into a DC power by means of a forward converter 1 before being fed to an inverter 3 through a reactor provided with a plurality of windings 6 and 7. Then, the inverter 3 converts the DC power into an AC power and feeds it to a load 4. Connecting the windings 6 and 7 in series or in parallel according to the load current permits the smoothing factor to be improved correspondingly to various load currents. Thereby, the inverter device is enabled to cope with a wide range of loads.
