Abstract

PURPOSE: To absorb overvoltage without lowering whole efficiency, by decreasing the crest value of circuit voltage wherein this overvoltage absorbing circuit is mounted to an AC output circuit, and by feeding back the power of the crest value decreased to the AC side.
CONSTITUTION: AC input is converted into DC by means of a forward converter 1, smoothed by means of a DC reactor 2, converted into AC output with arbitrary output frequency by means of an inverter 3 and supplied to a load motor 4. A forward converter 6 is connected to the output of the inverter 3 through a transformer 5. The DC output of the forward converter 6 charges a condenser 7. Power charged into the condenser 7 is fed back to the AC side through a converter 10 from a separately excited inverter 9.
