Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise operational efficiency of a load, by feeding back the voltage developed as a result of passing load current through a capacitor provided on an input power source and discharging the capacitor while the input is lower than a specified voltage. CONSTITUTION:A high frequency alternating current is generated on the output side of an output transformer by turning on an off transistors 7 and 8, and the current is applied to a discharge lamp 15. On the other hand, part of the output voltage is fed back to a capacitor 3 provided on the output end of a rectifying circuit 2 through a transformer 16 and a rectifying circuit 17. When the rectifying output of the rectifying circuit 2 falls for every half cycle below a specified voltage, namely the charge voltage of a capacitor 3, the capacitor 3 discharges and the discharged electric power is supplied to an inverter 6. In this way the operational efficiency of a load is raised and the effective value of the output voltage is suppressed when load is removed.
