Abstract

PURPOSE:To narrow the range of change in operating frequency in relation to load current by connecting the 2nd serial resonant circuit in parallel to the terminal on the AC side of an output rectifying circuit and by selecting the resonant frequency thereof to be lower than that of the 1st serial resonant circuit. CONSTITUTION:To the 1st resonant circuit connecting serially a capacitor 4 for resonance, a reactor 3 for resonance and the terminal on the AC side of the rectifying circuit 5 and to the terminal on the AC side of the rectifying circuit 5 of the serial resonant converter consisting of switching elements S1 and S2 and of DC power sources 1 and 2 is connected serially the 2nd resonant circuit 10 consisting of a reactor 11 and a capacitor 12, and the resonant frequency thereof is selected to be lower than that of the 1st resonant circuit. Therefore, the range of the change in the operating frequency in relation to the load current becomes narrow, whereby the output voltage can be controlled by slightly changing the operating frequency and the serial resonant converter can be operated outside an audio region.
