Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency, by switching a tap voltage of an input power transformer automatically through the detection of a voltage across a smoothing capacitor. CONSTITUTION:At the initial state, a tap A of a power transformer 1 is connected. With this state, when an AC input is applied, a voltage is produced across a capacitor 3. This voltage is compared with a reference voltage of an A/D converter 5 set in advance to judge if the tap of A is suitable. If suited, the state keeps the state as it is. If not, a tap switching circuit 7 sets other tap and this operation is repeated until the voltage of the capacitor 3 is a suitable value.
