Abstract

PURPOSE:To regenerate the commutation energy to a DC power source circuit by connecting a clipper circuit made of a diode and a capacitor to the AC output terminal of an inverter via a transformer or without the transformer and feeding back the terminal voltage of the condenser to the DC power source circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output voltage of an inveter INV is dropped by 1/n via a transformer T1, and is applied to a clipper circuit made of a diode bridge circuit DB and a capacitor C, and the commutation energy is stored in the capacitor C. Since the commutation energy and the DC current IDC are approximately proportional to the load M at this time, the surge voltage can be suppressed preferably over the wide load range and the commutation energy can be fed back by suitably selecting the turn ratio (n) of the windings of the transformer T1.
