Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent rush current of smoothing capacitor by supplying charging current to a smoothing capacitor during predetermined period after throwing an AC power source. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 13 is connected to a rectifying circuit 10, a smoothing circuit 14 for removing the AC components from the output of the circuit 10 is provided, and an inverter circuit 26 for converting the DC output into AC is provided. An on-off control signal is applied to the transistor 31-1 for a predetermined period after throwing the power source, a charging current will flow through a diode 30-1, transistor 31-1, DC reactor 32-1, diode 40-1 and smoothing capacitor 20, and the capacitor 20 is thus charged. Thus, the rush current of the smoothing capacitor can be prevented.
