Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high DC output voltage with an easy configulation, by a method wherein two capacitors are charged in a certain period, and these two capacitors are connected in series so that the sammation of the charged voltage is applied to a smoothing capacitor in the next period. CONSTITUTION:A controlling signal generating circuit 2, which is composed of a nonstable multi-vibrator, generates a prescribed rectangular wave. During the period when the circuit 2 is generating low-level signals, gate circuits 8, 9, 10 are on and gate circuits 11, 12 are off, so that each of capacitors 5, 6 is charged by a power source 1. During the period when the circuit 2 is generating high-level signals, the gate circuits 8, 9, 10 are off and the gate circuits 11, 12 are on, so that the capacitors 5, 6 are connected in series and at the same time, the sammation of the charged voltage of these capacitors 5, 6, is applied to a smoothing capacitor 15, so that the smoothed high voltage is applied to a load circuit 40.
