Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize a commutation loss by constituting the plural sets of unit inverters connected in series on AC output of them and by pulse controlling at least one set thereof with the frequency larger than the inverter output frequency.
CONSTITUTION: An inverter 2 is composed of 3 sets of unit inverters 2A, 2B, 2C and each on the AC output side is connected respectively to the primary side of the output transformers 8A, 8B, 8C. The secondary side of the output transformers 8A, 8B, 8C are connected with a load 9 in series. Inverter output current and current reference signals are compared in a relative circuit 4, the output of the relative circuit becomes output potential signals of the inverter 2 and is sent to a switching circuit 10 and to a commutation signal generation circuit 11A. The switching circuit 10 send signals to the commutation signal generation circuits 11B, 11C to control a pulse width of the inverter 2.
