Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an AC voltage from a DC low voltage by connecting a high speed switch to a reactor, providing a diode and a capacitor connected in parallel with the switch, and connecting a bridge circuit in parallel with the capacitor. CONSTITUTION:When a high speed switch 10 receives a control pulse to become ON, a shortcircuitting current iS1 will flow through a DC power source 1 through a reactor 4 into the switch , and when the switch 10 becomes OFF after ON during the prescribed period of time (T1), an electromagnetic energy stored in a reactor 4 is discharged through a diode 3 to a capacitor 5 during the period of time T2. Accordingly, a voltage VL=VB/(1-T1/T), where VB represents DC power source voltage, is generated at the capacitor 5, and the voltage is applied to an inverter bridge circuit 6. Thus, the periods of time T1, T2 are controlled to obtain from low DC voltage to high DC voltage, and accordingly a high AC voltage can be obtained from the inverter.
