Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify a DC bus work and reduce the installation area of an entire frequency converter by disposing transformers for a semiconductor rectifier and a semiconductor power converter at both sides of a frame for containing the rectifier and power converter.
CONSTITUTION: A converter 12 for a frequency converter having a DC high speed breaker 7 internally contains more than two groups of rectifiers within a frame, both of which are connected through a rectifier transformer 2 and a bus duct 4 and through a power converter transformer 9 and a bus duct 11 to AC power supplies. When the rectifiers are connected through a bus duct 12b to a rear DC reactor 6, the converter 12 can be interposed between the tank walls of the transformers 2 and 9 to thereby integrate the frequency converter. Thus, it can simplify the DC bus work and reduce the installation area of the entire frequency converter.
