CONSTITUTION: With a load current below the rated current of a silicon rectifier 4, the signal from a direct current transformer (DCPT) 10 comes to be higher than the set voltage of a setter circuit 9, and a comparator circuit 11 transmits a signal to a gate circuit 12 for a thyristor rectifier 7 not to produce a voltage. Accordingly, with only the silicon rectifier 4 operated, the thyristor rectifier 7 bears no share of the current. With the load current exceeding the raeted current of th silicon rectifier 4, the current is additionally fed from the thyristor rectifier 7 by this excessiveness.
