Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of the inverter due to reactive current by controlling the power factor of the induction motor when the motor is employed as a load. CONSTITUTION:A signal obtained by a transformer 6 and a current transformer 18 is applied to a power factor detector 13. The detector 13 produces a logic output ''1'' when the phase voltage and the current are same polarity. When the output of the detector 13 is converted into analog signal by an analog converter 14, an analog voltage varying upon change of the power factor can be obtained. When the voltage exceeds the set value of the power factor setting unit 15, the output polarity of the power factor controlling arithmetic amplifier 16 is inverted. Thus, a main circuit voltage lower limit signal is fed to a voltage controlling arithmetic amplifier 8 to reduce the output voltage of the power inverter. Accordingly, the power factor of the motor 5 is adjusted to reduce the loss due to the reactive current.
