Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the disposal efficiency by specifying the furnace structure and the sludge introducing method.
CONSTITUTION: To the furnace top of a vertical type furnace C, there are assembled a heat exchanger 14 and a sludge burner 8 connected to a belt convayor 6, and to the furnace lower wall there is assembled a cooling unit consisting of a cooling air nozzle 22, a cooling pipe 25 and the like. Concentrated sludge from a precipitation pond A, having a water content rate of about 95% and containing organic substances, is added with a dehydration asssistant, and converted into a dehydrated cake, in a mechanical dehydrator B. Then, the sludge is converted into a dry cake in a drier 2, and further pulverized in a pulverizer 13. Then, the sludge thus pulverized is sent to a sludge injection burner 8 by a belt conveyor 6 and dispersively supplied to the high temperature part at the upper part of the interior of the furnace together with hot air 9, and burnt and molten in a floating and banging state. The generated particles of the molten substance are cooled and solidified in the low temperature part at the lower part of the interior of the furnace, and supplied to a waste heat boiler 12 and an electrical dust collector 15, and disposed therein.
