Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a means for the safe disposal of industrial wastes and the preparation of the title solid fuel which is easily ignittable and leaves remarkably reduced amount of ash after combustion, by mixing oil sludge and paper sludge with carbon powder, lime, etc., and drying the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture obtained by mixing (A) 50W70pts.wt. of oil sludge (reduced to 70% oil content) and (B) 15W30 parts of paper sludge (reduced to 80% solid content), with (C) 5W10 parts of carbon powder, (D) 1W5 parts of lime, (E) 1W5 parts of sodium silicate (or potassium silicate), and (F) 1W5 parts of magnesium carbonate, is formed to briquettes, cubes, etc., and dried, pref. at room temperature under air flow.
EFFECT: Paper sludge containing a considerable amount of PCB can be safely treated by this process because most part of the PCB decomposes by combustion.
