Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the heat retained by sludge effectively and ash dehydrated sludge by granulating dehydrated sludge of 70W75% water contents, drying the granules then dry distilling these, and using part thereof in drying process and the remaining part in a gasifying process.
CONSTITUTION: The excess sludge produced by sewer treatment is dehydrated and the resultant dehydrated sludge of 70W75% water contents are granulated. The granules are dried by the heat sources obtd. by burning dry distillation gases and gasifying gases. Thence, the granules are dry distilled by the sensible heat of the gasifying gases and part of the resultant dry distillation gases are used in the abovementioned drying process and the remaining part in the gasifying process. The residues of the dry distillation are gasified by the remaining part of above-described dry distillation gases and air and the residues are extracted as ahes. The gasifying gases obtaineed at the same time are used in the above-mentioned drying process, and the dehydrated sludge is laying in ashes without using any auxiliary fuel.
