Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the quantity of heat possessed by the sludge dried with a granulating dryer effectively as boiler fuel by treating said sludge in a fluidized bed type thermal decomposing furnace, and separating ashes from the combustible gases discharged therefrom then feeding the same to a boiler.
CONSTITUTION: The org. sludge produced by waste water treatment is dehydrated and is supplied as dehydrated sludge 8 to a granulating dryer 9. The dried sludge and the dust separated from a dried waste gas 10 are put together and a prescrubed amt. thereof are supplied to a fluidized bed type thermal dicomposition furnace 13 as thermal decomposition material 12. In the furnace 13, the dried sludge is burned by the air 14 supplied from the lower part of the furnace, and forms char with the gas 15 produced by decomposition. The combustible gas 15 discharged from the furnace is separated of entrained ashes 16 by an ash separator 17 such as electrical dust precipitator. The fuel gas 18 removed of ashes is fed to a boiler and is used for combustion as a part of boiler fuel.
