Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover and utilize effectively the heat of slag, by blowing air to various molten slag to form finely divided particles, and by heat exchange of the finely divided particles with air in a slag-packed heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Molten slag 2 contained in a slag pan 1 is poured down through a turn dish 3 into a hood 5. The molten slag is finely divided with air spouted by means of a blower 4 to form granulated slag 6 at a temp. 1,000-1,100 deg.C. The high temp. slag particles are charged by a bucket conveyor 8 into a slag-packed heat exchanger 9, where the high temp. slag particles 13 are cooled with, air injected through air inlets 12 made in the bottom. The air is heated with the slag 13 to a high temp. 700-1,000 deg.C 15 and produces steam in a boiler 16, 17, 18 installed above the heat exchanger 9. The steam is utilized to drive a turbine etc.
