Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the unevenness of the electric characteristics of a nonlinear resistor consisting of ZnO as a principal component and >=1 kind of metallic oxide by utilizing a specidied emulsifier so as to uniformly mix starting materials in the manufacture of the resistor. CONSTITUTION:A dispersant, a binder and water are put in the hopper 1 of an emulsifier 2, and by rotating a rotor 5, a vane 4 connecting to the rotor 5 is rotated. A mixture consisting of 78mol% ZnO, 14mol% MgO and 8mol% in total of 0.05- 3.5mol% each of metallic oxides such as Bi2O3, Sb2O3, CoO, MnO and Cr2O3is charged into the hopper 1. The water, dispersant, binder and said powdered starting material are circulated to the hopper 1 through the emulsifier 2 and a circulation pipe 7. When they are passed through the gap 6 between the rotor 5 and a stator 3, they are uniformaly dispersed and mixed to give starting material for a nonlinear resittor with less unevenness in the electric characteristic values.
