Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain states of internal registers and latches of an LSI or the like from a stage tracer, by dividing registers and latches in an information processing device into plural blocks and by providing scan addresses in respective units. CONSTITUTION:A scan address in a processing device to be stored in a storage element 7 of a stage tracer 6 is set in respective scan address registers in blocks 1-4 and is inputted to the tracer 6. A control circuit 10 is operated by the occurrence of machine check or by the instruction from an external device to output information of the memory element 7 of the tracer 6 to a hard copy unit 12 through an interface line 11. Consequently, an optional register signal is obtained in the tracer 6 only by changing contents of the scan address register in each block.
