Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the machining of scavenging ports and exhaust ports and heighten the accuracy of timing of the ports, by reducing the inclination angle at which the ports are machined through. CONSTITUTION:Scavenging ports 11a, 11b, 11c and exhaust ports 12a, 12b, 12c, which are opened in the inside 14a of a cylinder, are mchined through by a stepped end mill 30 from the side of an exhaust passage 12. The diameter of the exhaust ports 12a, 12b, 12c is made slightly larger than that of the scavenging ports 11a, 11b, 11c. The central exhaust port 12a and the central scavenging port 11a opposed thereto are concentrically opened along an inclined straight line l1. Both the lateral exhaust ports 12b, 12c and both the lateral scavenging ports 11b, 11c opposed thereto are concentrically opened along another inclined straight line l2 of slightly inclination angle than the former line l1.
