Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the heat of comb-shaped electrodes from being transmitted to a heat-sensitive paper and obtain a clear recorded image, by a method wherein the surfaces of comb-shaped electrodes provided outside of a heating resistor forming region are covered with an insulator film, in a thermal head for recording a fixed two-dimensional pattern. CONSTITUTION:A pair of the comb-shaped electrodes 12, 13 are formed on a ceramic insulating substrate 11, and a heating resistor 14 having a desired two- dimensional pattern is formed thereon. Then, the surfaces of the electrodes 12, 13 outside of the region for forming the resistor 14 are covered with the insulator film 15. Accordingly, the difference between the temperature in a recording region for the heat-sensitive paper adjoining the resistor 14 and the temperature in the peripheral region is increased, resulting in that a high-quality record image with clear edge parts can be obtained.
