Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The shaded portion, as shown in Fig., is heated by application of a power pulse of a low level not to give dot color even when applying it to the heating portion in order to heat the heating portion at a certain level. Then, on the basis of an image signal for forming letters and image, a power pulse of a constant value and high level is applied to the heating portion to obtain dot color. At the time of high-speed recording by thermal head, the life of the heating element can thus be more lengthened than in the case where the abrupt heating of the heating element is repeatedly conducted.
