Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a light and shade recording device for thermal printers of which recording circuit has been more simplified by the adoption of such a system wherein characters are recorded by thermal elements to which varied number of pulses of which width is relatively narrow are supplied according to the density of a character to be printed, than such a circuit wherein the overall pulse width of power to be supplied is changed according to the density of a character. CONSTITUTION:When transistors Tr1-Tr5 are conducted in sequence by pulse width T1 like pulses 1-5, elements corresponding to those which are turned on of Darlington drivers DD1-DDn are heated and they can make dot records of the lightest density under this condition. To make dot records of more dense, pulses 6-10 are given following pulses 1-5. Dot records become darker as the conduction of pulse width T1 is repeated.
