Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat sensitive transfer recording medium capable of forming dots exhibiting halftone at a temperature lower than a heat fusible ink layer at the spot-state heat fusible ink layer coated on a base. CONSTITUTION:A heat fusible ink layer A coated uniformly on a base 1 and many spot-state heat fusible ink layer B arranged at an interval in the form of dots on the ink layer A are used in such a manner that the ink layer B is fused at a temperature lower than the ink layer A. When a recording medium thus obtained is heated at the prescribed temperature, only the ink layer B is fused and transferred on a copy sheet 3, e.g., common paper as a copy image responsive to the printing pattern of a heater 2 to form dots 4 exhibiting halftone. Then, when it is heated at higher temperature, both the ink layers A and B are fused to be transferred.
