Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate errors in reading image information, by constituting a label of a transfer sheet having a transfer layer comprising a coloring agent, a thermoplastic substance and a thermoplastic resin and a receiving sheet having a receiving layer comprising a filler having a specified oil absorption on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A coloring agent, a thermoplastic substance and a thermoplastic resin are applied to a base in the form of a heat-fusible mixture to provide a transfer layer, thereby producing the transfer sheet. A filler having an oil absorption of not less than 50ml/100g is applied to the surface of a base such as a paper and a plastic film together with a binder to provide a receiving layer, and a releasable base paper is adhered to the back side of the base through a conventional pressure-sensitive adhesive layer so that the base can be adhered to a solid surface, thereby producing the receiving sheet. The said transfer sheet and receiving sheet are laminated on each other so that the transfer layer makes close contact with the receiving layer, thereby obtaining a thermal transfer recording type label. The filler may be diatomaceous earth, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide or the like.

Conventionally, thermal recording paper is known which contains a leuco dye on the surface of a sheet-like support as a main component and an acidic substance that causes the leuco dye to develop color when heated, and this thermal recording paper is used as a thermal recording type packaging label. It is proposed to do so. In the case of such heat-sensitive recording type labels, the printing method is based on a thermal head, so compared to the conventional printing method using ink or ink ribbon, f[2I is printed simply and beautifully. When plasticizers applied to plastic films such as dioctyl phthalate (OOP) and dioctyl adipate (DOA) permeate, there is a problem that the printed area (colored area) fades, so it is difficult to use TI as a label for plastic film packaging. cannot be applied. Example l
f. At mass retailers such as Sunobe, in order to sell fresh foods, they put fish, vegetables, meat, etc. into plastic bags, such as Styrofoam, and place the whole thing in a plastic bag.
1) The force of auto-wrapping with a plastic film such as J-vinyl chloride, and then pasting a label with the weight value printed on the wrap.1. In this case, if conventional thermal paper is used as a label, when the label and wrap film are brought into close contact by stacking packaged items, the plasticizer in the wrap film will enter the heat-sensitive coloring layer on the label surface. After a certain amount of time has passed, the printing on the surface of the label disappears, causing a major hindrance to product sales. Furthermore, such leuco-based heat-sensitive recording labels also have problems such as background fogging under high temperature and high humidity, image deterioration due to light, and background discoloration.

On the other hand, in order to avoid such problems, it has been proposed to use a transfer sheet in which a heat-melt ink layer containing a colorant is provided on a support in combination with paper as a receiving sheet. In this case, the fixability of the transferred image formed on the receiving sheet is poor, and when the surface of the image is rubbed, image fading occurs and the background is stained.

The ratio of these components used is preferably 1 to 10 parts by weight of the thermofusible material and 1 to 5 parts by weight of the thermoplastic resin per 1 part by weight of the colorant. It is important to specify the proportion of the thermofusible substance; if the proportion of the thermofusible substance is too small, the transfer efficiency will be poor, while if it is too large, background stains will easily occur. Supports include capacitor paper, glassine paper,
Papers such as tracing paper and plastic films such as polyester, polycarbonate polyimide, and Teflon are preferably used.

To prepare a receptor sheet, the filler described above may be applied together with a binder onto the surface of paper, plastic film, or the like. In this case, the binder is preferably a water-soluble polymer, a hydrophobic polymer, or any other polymer such as an aqueous emulsion type hydrophobic polymer in a proportion of -0.1 to 5 parts by weight, and the binder is 0.1 to 5 parts by weight. If the amount is less than 1 part by weight, the filler tends to fall off, and if it exceeds 5 parts by weight, the transferred image will not be sufficiently accepted during transfer, resulting in a high density, clear image with good fixing properties. It becomes difficult to obtain images.
