Abstract

PURPOSE: To make high-speed transfer printing of fluorescent material on the surface of a transfer substrate by heating, while supplying with power, a transfer tape and the transfer substrate both placed on heating resistors so that the fluorescent-material containing layer of the transfer tape and the transfer substrate may closely contact with each other and pressed.
CONSTITUTION: A number of heating resistors 2 are fitted on the alumina base 3 of a thermal printer head by thick film printing method. A transfer tape is placed on the heating resistors 2 with the film of polyester or the like downward and fluorescent-material containing layer 5 thereof upward, respectively, and a transfer substrate 6 such as paper is contacted with the layer 5. The heating resistors 2, the tranfer tape and transfer substrate 6 are closely contacted with each other, and pressure is applied in the direction of arrow 8 thereto by a pressuring pad 7. With a desired one of the heating resistors 2 heated by supplying power, a corresponding portion thereto of the fluorescent material is transferred to the transfer substrate 6. Thus, a desired flouorescent mark is printed.
