Abstract

PURPOSE: To let a thick film type heat sensitive recording head has superior printing dot quality by specifying the roughness and width of flat face of resistor surface prior to formation of glass layer.
CONSTITUTION: Conductor electrodes 2 of thicknesses 5 to 10μm are fromed at a specified pitch and line width by screen printing and baking on one side of an insulation substrate 1. Next, resistors 3 using thick film resistance material are screen printed and dried in the form of striding over the respective electrodes. A jig comprising mounting a spring plate 8 to a fixing shaft 7 in semicircular arc form and further abrasive paper 10 thereon via cushion material 9 is pressed onto the surface of the resistor 3 and the shaft 7 or the substrate 1 is moved at a constant speed in the direction perpendicular to the electrode 2 direction, whereby a flat surface of above 100μm is obtained on the surface of the resistors 3 and is abrasion treated until the surface roughness becomes ±2μm or under. Thereafter, the resistors 3 are baked and further a glass layer 6 is formed on the resistors 3 and electrodes 2.
