Abstract

PURPOSE:An apparatus, designed to carry out simply the discharge treatment in a special atmosphere other than air, and equipped with a hood having a gas feed inlet opened to the discharging side around a discharge electrode. CONSTITUTION:A hood 3 is provided around a corona discharge electode 1, and a gas feed inlet 4 for feeding a gas other than air into the hood 3 is provided at the hood 3. The gas is preferably fed to disperse uniformly and not to disturb the discharging state on direct collision with the discharging part. Preferably, a pipe with many holes formed at regular intervals is inserted into the gas feed inlet 4. A hood 3' having a gas feed inlet 4' on the feeding side of a film 5 in the hood 3 permits the complete removel of an air layer accompanying the film surface running at a high speed till the discharge treatment.
