Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce without stopping a roll scraps produced until the quality of film comes in a stable state and to remove organic attachments on the roll surface by a method wherein, for example, in preparing thermoplastic plastic film, the surface of the roll with which the film is not touched is controlled by corona discharge.
CONSTITUTION: In preparing or treating a thermoplastic plastic (e.g.; polyethylene terephthalate etc.) film, the film 2 runs in an A direction in contact with a rotating roll 1 and simultaneously the roll 1 also rotates in a B direction. An electrode 3 is provided in opposition to the surface of the rotating roll 1 with which the film 2 is not touched, a high voltage is applied to that electrode 3 and the roll 1 from a high voltage generator 4 to give corona discharge between the electrode 3 and the roll 1 and to remove organic attachments to the roll 1.
