Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the reliability of a loop circuit network and ensure a quick detection for the area of loop fault, by transmitting in return through each station the optical signals of wavelengths allotted previously to each station in place of the optical signals that become unreceivable when a line fault arises. CONSTITUTION:In case communication is carried out in a steady mode and with use of an optical signal of waveform lambda1, a communication process is done in a route comprising a receiver 12a, a logical device 14 and a transmitter 13b and in a state under which the optical signal of wavelength lambda2 is by-passed. On the contrary, the optical signal of wavelength lambda1 is by-passed by a switch SW1 and a communication process is carried out in a route comprising a receiver 12b, the device 14 and a transmitter 13a in case communication is preformed with the optical signal of waveform lambda2. While if the input is stopped for a receiver 12b or 12a due to line fault, a transmitter 16a or 16b is energized by a switch of SW4 or SW3. Then the optical signal of waveform lambdax is looped back to be transmitted to an optical fiber 4.
