Abstract

PURPOSE:To transmit information other than loop-transmitted information by applying wavelength multiplex technique by a transmitter wherein a central control part and respective terminal control parts via optical fiber transmission lines. CONSTITUTION:Terminal control parts 31 and 32 are connected mutually through an optical fiber transmission line 33 to constitute a part of a loop transmitter. An optical signal transmitted through the optical fiber transmission line 33 is converted by the photoelectric converter 35 into an electric signal, which is applied to a loop transmission processing circuit 36. The output of the processing circuit 36 is reconverted by an electrooptic converter 37 into an optical signal, which is sent to the terminal controlling part 32 through an optical fiber transmission line 34, an optical branching coupler 40, and the optical fiber transmission line 33. A signal from a protection relay 39, on the other hand, is converted by an electrooptic converter 38 into an optical signal having different wavelength from that of loop-transmitted information, and it is sent to the terminal controlling part through the optical branching coupler 40 and optical fiber transmission lines 34 and 33.
