Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical repeater for optical two-way transmission having a simple constitution and high reliability, by changing the two-way optical signal into the same wavelength band with a common intervention of a single optical repeating part secured by use of an optical directional coupler. CONSTITUTION:The down-signal supplied from an optical signal input/output point 1 passes through an optical fiber line 8 by an optical directional coupler 3, through an optical fiber line 10 and a single optical repeating part 7 by an optical directional coupler 5, through an optical fiber line 13 by an optical directional coupler 6 and through an optical fiber line 15 by an optical directional coupler 4 respectively to be transmitted through an optical signal input/output point 2. On the other hand, the up-signal sent from the point 2 has the same wavelength band as the down-signal and is transmitted through the point 1 and via the couplers 4 and 5, an optical repeating part 7 same as the down-signal plus couplers 6 and 3, respectively.
