Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the data part of data transmisson, by providing a plurality of stations, an optical fiber cable connecting those stations together, and a pair of transmission wavelengths for transmitting a data signal and synchronizing signals separately via the cable. CONSTITUTION:In optical transmission, since wavelength multiplexing is possible, a pair of transmission wavelengths are used and while a data signal is sent with one wavelength, a synchronizing signal is transmitted with the other wavelength via optical fiber cable 101. The signal sent via cable 101 is received by optical receiving circuit 102. The signal from optical receiving circuit 102 is separated by branching filter circuit 103 into the data signal and synchronizing signal. Signal extracting circuit 104 extracts the data signal by using the synchronizing signal. Signal extracting circuit 104 extracts the data signal by using the synchronizing signal separated by circuit 103 and it is sent to station control part 4 via received signal line 5. In data transmission, the signals are mixed by wavelength mixing circuit 105 and transmitted to cable 101'.
