Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency of data by substituting data in a time zone assigned to the transmission of a light communication device among signals received by the light communication device by the data transmitted from the communication device and then by transmitting it. CONSTITUTION:Optical signal 101 transmitted from optical transmission line 21 is supplied to optical branching circuit 3, where part of electric power is branched and supplied to optical receiving circuit 41. This signal 102 is converted by circuit 41 into an electric signal, which is further regenerated to obtain received signal 104. This signal is used as a received signal and signal selecting circuit 42 removes from it a signal part in a time zone assigned to transmission from light communication device 4 and adds transmitted signal 105 from device 4 as a substitute, thereby resending it from circuit 43. This light communication signal 106 is mixed with optical signal 103 which is not separated by circuit 3 by optical synthesizing circuit 5 to send the mixture to the side of optical transmission line 23. Consequently, many light communication devices are connected and the transmission efficiency of data is improved.
