Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a signal line by connecting a repeater sending a signal mutually between signal lines of both multiple transmission system for high speed transmission and a multiplex transmission system for low speed transmission. CONSTITUTION:The high speed multiplex transmission system consists of high speed transmission multiplex terminal equipment 12 and a high speed signal line 15 and the low speed multiplex transmission system comprises low speed transmission terminal equipments 13, 14 and a signal line 16. Then the signal lines 15, 16 are connected by a repeater 11. The repeater 11 consists of an optical multiplex I/F, an electric multiplex I/F and a photoelectric conversion buffer to send the high and low speed signals. Thus, the requirement of the signal processing speed and the cost are balanced. Moreover, the signal line is simplified.
