Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the multiple transmitting system using the single-mode optical fiber, by providing the optical wavelength scattering/equalizing circuit which gives the equalization to the wavelength scattering of the transmission line at the transmitter or receiver side and then securing the identical transmission velocity for each wavelength.
CONSTITUTION: The signal sent from signal input terminal 1 is supplied to modulating drive circuit 2, and the modulation is given to light sources 3 and 4 having the different wavelengths by the output of circuit 2. Then the optical signals are compounded through wavelength multiple branching/compounding optical circuit 5 to be transmitted to single-mode optical fiber transmission line 6 in the form of the optical signal of the wavelength multiplexing. The optical signals sent from line 6 are branched into each wavelength through circuit 5, and the signal in the 1.3m band receives the direct optical detection by optical detector 7 to be sent to receiving circuit 8. And the signal in the 1.5m band is detected at detector 7 and via 1.5m band optical wavelength scattering/equalizing unit 16 to be then applied to receiving circuit 8.
