PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of fixation, and to ameliorate the characteristics of transmission by using a spherical lens as a lens and two SELFOC lenses opposed at a regular interval when a laser coupler is formed by inserting the lens between a semiconductor laser and a single mode optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A spherical lens 6 is disposed at the projecting beam side of a semiconductor laser 1, SELFOC lenses 7 are mounted while an optical axis is conformed to after stage, and an optical fiber 2 with a core 3 is fast stuck to the lenses 7 by using adhesives. In this constitution, the lenses 7 are formed by two SELFOC lenses 71, 72, end surfaces 83, 84 thereof are opposed through a space (d), the incident end surface 85 of the lens 71 is opposed to the lens 6, and the optical fiber 2 is fixed to the projecting end surfaces 82 of the lens 72 by employing optical adhesives. The ratio of the length of the lenses 71, 72 is selected in 1:8-3:6, the space (d) is adjusted, and the laser coupler having desired accuracy is obtained.
