Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize the structure and ensure a stable working to a fluctuation of temperature, by using a concave cylindrical lens and a convex cylindrical lens having the curved surfaces in the direction parallel to the junction surface of a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:The section along an optical axis in the direction vertical to the junction surface of a semiconductor laser is shown by (a); and the section along an optical axis in the direction parallel to the junction surface is shown by (b). A point l is disposed so that it functions as the focal surface of a concave cylindrical lens 14 as well as the focal surface of a convex cylindrical lens 16, respectively. Thus the parallel beams of a luminous flux width theta2 are converted to the parallel beams of a luminous flux width theta3 to reduce distances qr and st. The focal distance f13 of a focal lens 13 is set larger than the focal distance f19 of a diaphragm lens 19 to prevent the characteristic deterioration which is caused by a variation of temperature.
